Interviews Media Effects Final

Finding a connection between college students and media effects is a simple task; the two merely go hand in hand. Across campus, students were found to interact and expose themselves to the variety of media outlets on a daily basis. Despite the unique variety and separate demands of students, media catered to all individuals’ needs in a positive way. The majority of students utilized television and Internet resources for information. Although entertainment was a popular media aspect, students collectively acknowledged the supreme importance of informative news. According to students, exposure to world events, politics, and economic affairs all wield a measurable amount of importance in daily activities. While some admittedly decline to follow news with much gusto, majority opinion still ruled that being aware of surrounding events is an important factor in the development of the younger generation.As awareness was a common reason for media interaction, students used media for unique purposes according to their interests. Furthermore, the attention towards articles and stories developed through open approaches to news presented in an impressive way. OU students utilize the media to glean information, entertainment, and general exposure to their surrounding environment. Although the levels of attention varied and the interests directed what specific aspect of media they followed, the importance of media has a definite impact across campus.
